We are the longest running Taekwondo class in Coventry, with classes also in Bedworth, Wolverhampton, Birmingham and Leicester we are members of the official national governing body for Olympic Taekwondo, British Taekwondo & World Taekwondo.
Taekwondo caters for ALL ages and levels of fitness from grass roots to Olympic athletes. It is a military Martial Art and is taught to the armed forces throughout the world, offering realistic self defence. Taekwondo is also excellent for improving your fitness, confidence and health.
The Coventry Taekwondo Club was founded in 1974 by Mr. R Haines & Murray Walker. When the club expanded outside Coventry it was renamed The Heart of England Taekwondo Club in 1982 by Master N. Guest and Mr. S Guest. The Heart of England Taekwondo Club is continually building a reputation for excellence locally, nationally and internationally. Senior Instructor Master Neil Guest, a 7th Dan with over 40 years experience in Martial Arts, has earned a considerable standing in Taekwondo that only a few can match. He now coaches either directly, or through our team of experienced Masters and Dan Grade Instructors. We are one of the only clubs in the UK that has four Masters (one 7th Dan and two 6th Dans and one 5th Dan) among its members and is proud of every one of the 300 plus members throughout the ‘Heart of England Club’ at classes spread throughout the Midlands. World Taekwondo (WT)
The biggest Taekwondo federation in the world with 205 countries as members and 80 million practitioners.
European Taekwondo Union (ETU)
The European Taekwondo Union is the official governing body for all Taekwondo matters in Europe It consists of the National Taekwondo Federations of all European member national and regulates all Taekwondo matters on a continental basis.
British Taekwondo was established in 1982 and is the governing body for the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) in the United Kingdom. British Taekwondo is a full member of the WTF, British Olympic Association (BOA), the European Taekwondo Union (ETU) and is recognised by UK Sport, the government agency for high performance sport. British Taekwondo is responsible for all aspects of WTF/Olympic Taekwondo in the UK. This includes selecting National Teams to compete at European and World Championships and the Olympic Games.
